Nothing says "summer" like a tasty Bar-B-Q with family and friends. Here are some tips to help keep your grilling safe.

~Never leave a grill unattended once it has been lit.

~Avoid using gasoline or other unstable flammable liquids to light the charcoal.

~Follow manufacturer's directions.

~Open all vents before and during cooking.

~Keep children 3 feet away from the hot grill

Training

Trenton fire Department

Training consists primarily in station with Firefighter I, & Firefighter II Certification Curriculum. Some regional fire schools, in various locations are also attended.

Currently, State Firefighter I, & II Certification is being conducted in station by certified Dept. Instructor in conjunction with University of Missouri and Missouri Department of Public Safety.

Firefighter I,& II is a National Registry Certification intended to be the basis for all future fire fighter certification programs. Certification is granted to those individuals who meet the required qualifications and successfully pass the written and practical certification examinations on the following:

  • Firefighter Orientation & Safety

  • Fire Behavior

  • Building Construction

  • Firefighter Personal Protective Equipment

  • Portable Extinguishers

  • Ropes & Knots

  • Rescue & Extrication

  • Forcible Entry

  • Water Supply

  • Fire Hose

  • Fire Streams

  • Fire Control

  • Fire Detection, Alarm, & Suppression Systems

  • Loss Control

  • Protecting Evidence For Fire Cause Determination

  • Fire Prevention & Public Fire Education

Currently Training is Conducted on the 2nd Thursday evening of every month in conjunction with Grundy County Rural Fire Dept. alternating monthly Training Topics.
